Our molded grating is manufactured in open heated molds. Continuous E-glass fiber is placed in the mold in alternating layers and completely wetted out with resin. Various molds are designed to produce different types of mesh and panel size.
1. Corrosion Resistant
Corrosion is a major problem for metal grating, stair treads and other products in many different industries such as chemical plants, food and beverage factories, water and wastewater facilities, power facilities. Our grating is particularly designed to provide safe, long-lasting, economical and worry-free solutions in environments where chemicals and other corrosive materials attack and destroy metal or wood. According to different environmental requirements, such resins as orthophthalic polyester, isophthalic polyester, vinylester or phenolic are chosen as matrix material.
2. High Strength-to-Weight Ratio
Our grating is manufactured as a composite of continuous fiberglass strands and high quality resin, integrally constructed for strength. It is less than half the weight of steel grating, allowing easy removal for access below floor level. Installation requires no heavy equipment and less manpower. Properly installed, our grating meets specified load requirements for steel and are more impact resistant than metal.
3. Fire Retardant
Our grating has a flame spread rating of less than 25 depending on the resin systems, as tested to the ASTM E-84 Standards. Test Reports can be offered upon request. Special fire retardant requirements can also be met by including extra additives. Its non-conductive properties make our grating ideally suitable in electrically hazardous locations, acting as an insulator.
4. Low Maintenance
Install it and forget about it. Our grating is easy to clean, its open mesh permits debris to fall through the grating panel, preventing a hazardous build-up on the walking surface. It does not require re-painting year after year as its colour remains fast due to its molded-in ultraviolet stability.
5. Comprehensive Economical Efficiency
The cost of our FRP grating is about 1.4-1.8 times that of steel grating but the installation cost is about 20-40% lower and maintenance costs are effectively zero. Steel grating must be maintained and replaced so accumulated costs could be considerable. The cost of our FRP grating may be a little higher than that of steel grating but the comprehensive economical efficiency, plus other advantages, give it added value.
